The Century Bungalow is the epitome of Tampa’s classic, historic single‑family home architecture. Set in the quaint neighborhood of South Seminole Heights, this cozy bungalow has served the community in many ways. Home to only a few families over the decades, it quietly fell into disrepair until my client recognized a diamond in the rough and gave it new life.
Originally a two‑bed, one‑bath house, we converted a rear office off the primary bedroom into an ensuite bathroom, giving the suite a private, comfortable feel. We also opened the floor plan by removing the traditional separation between living, dining, and kitchen areas. The main house now reads as a single, cohesive home rather than a collection of separate rooms.
As a bonus, we converted the detached garage into an auxiliary dwelling unit — an apartment‑style living space of approximately 700 sq ft. This generous one‑bed, 1.5‑bath residence provides both rental income potential and an affordable housing option that Tampa’s growing population needs.
